Over-Possessive Partner

Signs You Have An Over-Possessive
Partner

Being in love is an amazing feeling. when they call, your heart races and you want to leave everything to pick up that call anyhow. A text from them can brighten your day and make you smile. All you want to do is spend all your waking reached a stage where their calls make you feel uncomfortable, you don't feel like picking up their calls or replying to their texts? Caring about someone is one thing and being overly possessive and not letting your partner breathe is quite another. Over possessive partners have a set of traits that are easy to notice. Here's what you need to keep an eye out for.

1 The Get Hysterical When You Don't Answer Their Calls

Do they get extremely upset when you don't receive their calls? Whether you are in the middle of a meeting, travelling in a packed train or in the bathroom, they expect you to drop everything and take your call. They don't stop after calling one time, they keep on calling till you pick up. And get angry at you for ignoring their calls. Even if you tell them you're busy, they don't hang up easily.

2 They Want You to Stay Away From Your Friends of The Opposite Sex

Bye-bye to your other 'girls' or 'boys' friends. Does your partner forbid you from hanging out with your friends of the opposite sex? Do they always want to be around when you meet these friends? Do they voice suspiciously about those friends having an agenda in mind? If you have had numerous arguments on this subject with your partner, it's time to re-asses things.

3 They Want To Be Invited To All Your Family Gatherings

Family time without them is a complete no-no. If they are not invited to a family gathering and you are, then God forbid, you're in trouble. They keep complaining about how unimportant they are for your family and how he/she loves you more than you love them. They want to be part of everything and forbid you from meeting them if they don't tag along.

4 They Expect You To Text Back Immediately

Texting back at supersonic speed is a must. On average, a person responds to a text message within five to ten minutes unless they're really caught up with something very important. But if you have an over-possessive partner; that time becomes five to ten seconds. The green sign WhatsApp doesn't help. They don't only expect you to read it at once, they want you to reply immediately as well. And if you are texting someone in their presence, they want to know who you are communicating with.

5 There Is Nothing Like 'Me-Time' Anymore

They want to be with you all the time and everywhere. There is no escape from them and their love! You can't go for a walk alone, you can't go to the gym alone, you can't watch television alone and you can't step out without them tagging along.

6 They Are High On PDF

While most people have no problem with it, there may be some who don't enjoy PDF. However, an over-possessive partner will be all over you, whether you like it or not. They would insist on holding hands in a mall, cuddling at a restaurant or something you on the dance floor just to let the world know that you guys are a couple.

7 They Keep A Tab ON Your Whereabouts

There is no better detective than a jealous partner. If they are suspicious about something, it will take them less than a minute to get into Sherlock Holmes mode. They might follow you as spy on you or sneak on you. And they will dig deep to find out the truth and dig even deeper if they don't like what they find out.

8 They Want To Know Everything About You

Details are important to over-possessive partners. They like you to divulge all the details of your life no matter how innocuous it may be. They want to be on a first-name basis with your colleagues, friends and family, know their phone numbers, their address, their photo identity cards, you get the draft. They want to know where you are going when you'll be back, who you are meeting and why. And if you unintentionally forget to mention some small details, it upsets them hugely.
9 You Can Never Have A 'Boys' or 'Girls' Night Out

Sometimes, spending time with our friends ( without a partner ) is just what we want to unwind. But an over-possessive partner will always want to be a part of these one-off nights as well and make you feel guilty about not including them in your plans.

10 They Don't Like Your Best Friend

Your best friend will be their worst enemy. Their constant complaint will be how close you are to your best friend and how they are leeching on their time with you. You will find it difficult to hang out with just your best friend. If they find out that you have shared something about the relationship with your best friend, they get upset to start an argument.
Dealing with an over-possessive partner can be a tricky thing. You need to have a serious discussion about their behaviour and tell them how it is hurting the relationship and the bond you'll want to share.
